Overview
The inaugural edition of the Beyond Aesthetics Program is in partnership with the American University of Kuwait, specifically designed for the BUS 389: Special Topics in Business - Branding class, led by Dr. Shihanah Al Mutairi. This course introduces students to the intricacies of brand strategy, encouraging them to think critically and creatively about branding beyond visuals.
Learning Objectives
In the BUS 389 Special Topics in Business - Branding class, this project immerses students in a detailed brand audit of a rebranded energy drink, applying foundational theories like the Customer-Based Brand Equity (CBBE) model, Brand Resonance, and Competitive Analysis. Students evaluate the rebrand’s effectiveness in brand awareness, differentiation, and emotional connection with its target market. Aligned with key Program Learning Outcomes, the project fosters PLO1 (Communication) through structured analyses, PLO3 (Critical Thinking) by synthesizing data and assessing brand positioning, and PLO6 (Technology Agility) as students use digital tools to visually convey their findings. This integrative exercise prepares students for complex, real-world brand management challenges.
